Previous career history
Clive is an education professional starting his career as a youth worker in inner-city London in 1984. He has over eleven years experience as a senior manager heading local government youth, community development & adult learning services. His management experience includes oversight of organisational change & restructure; budget management; staff recruitment, training & development; curriculum development & evaluation; policy development, project management and grant-aid to the voluntary sector.
Clive has had extensive experience in leading on the local implementation of UK government backed multi-agency strategies targeting deprived inner-city neighbourhoods and multi-cultural communities. He has successfully facilitated partnerships working on a local and international basis with the business, public and voluntary sectors. Outcomes include raising levels of educational achievement; reducing crime & improving community safety; addressing health inequalities; tackling discrimination & social exclusion; fostering social & economic regeneration.
From 2002 Clive spent five years lecturing in organisational communication skills at the prestigious Thammasat University in Bangkok, Thailand. Through the university he supported both undergraduate and postgraduate programmes and numerous external institutions including Royal Thai Government Ministries and Thai and multi-national private sector companies and corporations.
Clive’s experience in Asia provides a specific advantage in provision of coaching and coach training for non-native English speakers. In addition he has a deep understanding of cross-cultural issues and the opportunities and challenges that present themselves when living and working abroad and within international and multi-cultural environments. This equips him for coaching in international settings, particularly with members of expatriate communities or executives who are relocating abroad.
